State Medical and Pharmaceutical University
The Republic of Moldova is a landlocked country between Romania and Ukraine that covers 13,199 square miles (33,845 square kilometers). It includes the Gagauz Autonomous Region in the south and the disputed Transdniestrian region in the east. The latter region separated from Moldova in 1991–1992 but did not gain official recognition.
The State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “ Nicolae Testemitanu” in the Republic of Moldova is a high education institution, accredited at national level, that offers best conditions of high and post graduate education via residency of the medical and pharmaceutical personnel in conformity with the requirements of the European education and world standards, later on assuring it via clinical secondary doctorate, post-doctorate and continuous professional training over their entire activity. The didactic process is developed in an indispensable connection with the scientific research, offering quality medical assistance to the population, and promoting the achievements of medicine and pharmacy.
The education strategy of the University originates from beautiful traditions of the medical school of the last century and strives continuously to considerable change in the way of developing the high medical education. The ongoing curriculum reform is related to the considerable renovation of the educational curriculums, capitalization of new educational offers, use of European system of transferable academic grading scale, implementation of information and communication technologies, modern advanced types and methods for developing the process of teaching-learning-assessment.
